Recalling his teenage love for a girl from Geneva, photographer Paul Rousteau revisits the city for Louis Vuitton Fashion Eye. Through his lens, the city at the end of Lake Geneva’s vast expanse of blue appears in warmer colors, with its beige-hued façades revealed in a new light and an almost Mediterranean spirit of dolce vita floating over its harbor.Based in Paris, Paul Rousteau has a vivid, almost impressionist style which invites us to escape through the mirror of appearances. He has a preference for bright and soft colors, and his photographs, which are often blurry and overexposed, catch our eye with their luminous washes of color. His work has appeared in numerous magazines, including The New Yorker, and was shown at the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival in 2016.Inspired by the House’s travel heritage, the Louis Vuitton Fashion Eye collection evokes cities, regions or countries through the eyes of fashion photographers, from emerging talents to industry legends.
